The Archon products use an older version of Windows Help which produced HLP files. Unfortunately the last few versions of Windows (Vista and later) do not come with this version of Windows installed by default. However, it is easy to download and install (unless you have Windows 10). And I urge you to do just that if you want to access the online help. For what it’s worth, we are looking at creating PDF versions of the help and we will let you know when that’s done.

All you need to do is double-click on the downloaded file, follow the instructions and Windows will do the rest. When the file has finished, the helpfiles will now run perfectly on your Windows Vista / 7 / 8 / 8.1 system.

The Future

We have looked at migrating the help files and this is doable. We are looking at publishing either a CHM (current type of Windows Help), a web-based HTML help, a PDF or all of the above. Let us know if you prefer one over the other.
